Vegas Odds

The fantastic city that is Las Vegas is without doubt the place to be for casinos and the blackjack tables, roulette wheels and slot machines; but it is possible to get Vegas odds in so many more sports, which probably comes as something of a surprise for many people. Everybody falls in love with the city, and very often return time and again. The same can be said for Vegas odds, once you get to grips with them.

I enjoy a bet like the next man, well to be honest probably a little more than the next man and the one next to him too; in fact I look forward to a wager most days – modest stakes I hasten to add though! The trouble with Vegas odds is the way they arrive at their spread, it does take some understanding, but a visit to ScoresAndOdds.com and a compartment within it labeled 'How To' certainly helped put me straight. In there, it comprehensively explains the points spreading system to an extent where I felt able to place bets on a whole host of betting opportunities, which I discovered on Vegas odds.

Now I love my sports; be it Soccer, Golf, Horse Racing, Motor Sports, Boxing – they are all catered for with Vegas odds, and over time I have enjoyed a wager on all of them; but I was absolutely fascinated by the inclusion of some sports which I had only the vaguest of knowledge and my intrigue got the better of me and lead to some outrageous bets. ScoresAndOdds.com were of great benefit to me, as I used their informative experts to back or dissuade my opinion and in many cases, I find that I am onto a winner.

As a scores and odds website, ScoresAndOdds.com have some terrific features, but the one I always enjoy using is their Parlay Calculator, which I visit most days to work out exactly how much my winnings will be, it would be nice if all my workings out ended up in my pocket, but I don't do too badly. Vegas odds for the NFL were I found, particularly difficult to get my head around. They didn't, at first seem to make any sense, but ScoresAndOdds.com put me right – once I sorted a few brain cells out, and I actually found myself able to grasp the basic structure and thinking behind the decision making.

I became aware that the actual Vegas odds were set by a body known as the the Las Vegas Sports Consultants (LVSC), and it is their influence that dictates how the other bookmakers present their odds. I soon realized that this organization were basing their calculations on the very same factors that I was using, possibly with a few more contacts and maybe inside information; but frustratingly they were not always arriving at a similar conclusion.

In my scrutiny and analysis, I seemed to take into account certain components which were not considered by the LVSC and consequently were not reflected in the Vegas odds; but then again it is possible to look too deeply sometimes and maybe over complicate an issue that is actually fairly straight forward, after all they are the professionals.

My tactic is to reckon with not just injuries and changing weather patterns, but also think about players making their first appearances in front of adoring crowds, or those returning to stadiums where once they were hero worshipped, but will now face hostilities. LVSC don't appear to see this as significant, but I see it as huge motivational situations, which can have a definite influence on results, one way or another.

ScoresAndOdds.com are able to offer a full and comprehensive package which is ideal for someone like myself, especially when gambling with the 'unknown'. I was very impressed with their index of sports such as Canadian Football, Arena Football, College Basketball, and Hockey to name but a few. All of them trailing behind the more established sports and suffering from lack of coverage. It is a pleasant and refreshing change to have the opportunity to try and back yourself and your perception against something new.

Vegas odds for these sports don't tend to give too much away, but there are some great chances to get one over the bookmaker. A very popular function in the props and futures markets, which I naturally had to have a little look at, and gamble on which player in varying sports, will do this that and the other; for which Vegas odds will attempt to persuade a punter to stick their neck out – something I am only to willing to oblige in!

The NFL futures are already taking bets on the 2011 Super Bowl, as well as the AFC and NFC championships. In the NASCAR futures, it is possible to get Vegas odds for the 2010 sprint championship, together with the Coke Zero 400 match-ups. For Golf there are early prices available on all players in forthcoming majors. The Vegas odds all seem to favor Tiger Woods as usual, despite his indiscretions; but he is closely followed by the likes of Jim Furyk, Robert Allenby, Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose for the AT&T; with names such as Padraig Harrington, Ernie Els, Phil Mickleson, and Lee Westwood being added for the British Open. ScoresAndOdds.com has all the statistics needed to find the value bet.
